The Bureau of Immigration issued a deportation order to Adamson’s former Men’s Basketball import Papi Sarr to follow an altercation last March 05, 2020, and discovered that the Cameroonian big man player has not renewed his visa.

On March 05, 2020, Sarr was in the headlines of every news article for being accused of assaulting a school official. News reports showed that the AdU import was said to have a heated confrontation with Adamson’s athletic director, Fr. Aldrin Suan, which resulted in the unwanted incident.

The player was immediately arrested and spent the night at the Manila Police District station. He faced unjust vexation and light threat charges. Papi Sarr also then got expelled from the university.

Based on the December 03, 2020 order which was reported by several sources that Alexander Cordero, the complainant, cited that the incident that happened in March, which involved the former import Papi Sarr and school official Fr. Suan, were the primary basis for the deportation request.

After the said issue, the bureau discovered that the Cameroonian player’s visa was not renewed on July 15, 2020. Sarr’s visa had in fact expired and he was unable to submit a counter-affidavit regarding the matter.

The bureau ordered Sarr to pay his fees and get deported within a 30-day period of the order, which then ended last January 3, 2021.

Both the Former Adamson Basketball import Papi Sarr and Adamson University have been silent up ‘till today.

Regarding the issue, Sarr made a public apology after the incident saying “it was not intentional” and what he did was “unsportsmanlike”.

The Cameroonian big man Papi Sarr was known for being a foreign student-athlete of Adamson University until UAAP Season 82. The report says that head coach Franz Pumaren decided to replace him with a younger player Lenda Douanga for the UAAP Season 82 campaign.
