April 20, 2021— Ana Patricia Non, the woman behind the community pantry chain temporarily shuts down the Maginhawa St. Community Pantry operations due to red-tagging of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) and National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC).

On her facebook post, Ana Patricia Non stated how the QCPD and the NTF-ELCAC accused her and her staff, being members of the New People’s Army (NPA) and promoting the said organization.

She also included screenshots of Facebook posts of official pages of the QCPD and NTF-ELCAC claiming that these community pantries are propagandas used by communist groups.

She also mentioned that three policemen questioned her about the organization she’s in and tried to get her personal contact.

In that post, Non expressed her fear for her volunteer’s safety as well as her own.

“Pause po muna ang Maginhawa Community Pantry para sa safety po namin ng mga volunteers. Malungkot po dahil hindi muna maipapamahagi ang goods na inihanda namin buong maghapon dahil po sa red-tagging na nagaganap,” she said on her post.

On a final note she sought for Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte to help her sort things out.
