Adamson University administrators proposed the tuition fee increase in a consultation meeting that would affect various parts of the tuition, miscellaneous and other fees to maintain its autonomous status.

The meeting aims to re-implement the previously postponed Tuition and Other School Fees Increase (TOSFI) by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) last year for the Academic Year 2021-2022.

As Adamson increased their tuition fees, the university also added the cost for the Learning Management System (LMS) that will be implemented next Academic Year.

The said tuition fee increase will be used to upgrade the university's facilities, equipment, and other projects — as well as to supplement the pay raises that will be provided to faculty members.

On April 13, 2020, CHED had approved AdU’s TOSFI proposal however, AdU had made adjustments on April 29 and May 4, 2020, as they were also concerned for their students’ financial difficulties so they have only enforced a 5.4 percent rise in tuition fees for AY 2020-2021 with no increase for old students.
